The French military helicopter crashed into a river, possibly after a wire strike (tbc). The aircraft began 'zigzagging' beforehand. The three occupants survived the crash but were injured.

Le 43e BIMa perd une Gazelle : les occupants saufs
Une Gazelle du 43e BIMa s'est écrasée hier en fin d'après-midi dans un lac ivoirien : les trois
occupants sont saufs, explique à Paris l'état-major des armées. Le crash pourrait être lié à un contact avec une ligne électrique. Ce crash est le premier de l'année, une Gazelle avait déjà été endommagée en France au deuxième semestre 2017.
Le 43e BIMa dispose organiquement de deux Puma et deux Gazelle. Comme arrière-cour de Barkhane, les FFCI peuvent être engagées sans préavis au profit de l'opération majeure au Sahel. 950 militaires sont déployés à Abidjan dans ce sens.
