*American instructor A.F. Sangster and mechanic Harold Walsh died when pursuit plane crashed in Hankow after reaching 1,500 meters altitude.

**A Curtiss-Wright CW-19R, bought by Chinese government in 1937, crashed on 1938/01/05 [sic].

The two sources possibly referred to the same accident.
