A-6E Intruder BuNo. 155633/'KC-05' of VMAT(AW)-202, US Marine Corps, based at MCAS Cherry Point. Havelock, North Carolina. Destroyed January 2, 1981 when crashed during routine training flight at the Dare County Bombing Range, West of Mateo, North Carolina.
Both crew - 1st Lt Christopher Kline "Chris" Taylor (pilot) and Captain Douglas Doran (Bombardier/Navigator) - were killed.
